FAQ

What documentation is required?

  • Up to date Rabies vaccination is required. You'll need to take a picture of it when creating a account.

Where do you travel?

  • We travel within a 15 mile radius of Birdsboro. Fuel charge of $15 applies to those over 15 miles away.

How do I book an appointment?

  • Simply click on the book now tab and create an account. If you don't see a time that you like, send us a text to see if we can fit you in.

My dog is aggressive, will you take them?

  • If you know your dog is aggressive please send me a message before booking to see if we can accommodate. We want to keep ourselves and your pet safe for their grooming experience.

Do you express anal glands?

  • Yes, but only if necessary and only externally for $10. Dogs should be expressing them naturally so if they aren't, there could be an underlying issue- sometimes food related or not enough exercise. If your dog has a problem with their anal glands, talk to your vet. We do not do it on large breeds or puppies.

What is nail grinding?

  • Nail grinding uses a dremel to trim nails as short as possible without exposing the quick, which can cause bleeding and pain. Grinding also gets them smoother than clipping. Dogs that do not like loud sounds might not allow nail grinding.

My dog is anxious or anxious, what can I do before grooming?

  • Mobile grooming is a great option for anxious dogs. Grooming is stressful, but we keep our atmosphere as stress-free and positive as possible.

  • For energetic dogs, take on a long walk or play in the yard before service

  • For anxious dogs, calming treats 1 hour before grooming can be helpful. If your dog requires gabapentin or trazodone, make sure it is administered a few hours before service.

I have a new puppy what do I need to know about grooming?

  • It's important to start grooming them as early as possible to get them used to it. After their first round of shots they can get services. We like to start them with puppy trims until they are used to grooming. You should start brushing and having their paws touched beforehand so not everything is a new experience. Another helpful thing is if you have an old electric toothbrush you can brush it against your pup to get them used to the sound and vibration.

How often should my dog get groomed?

  • We recommend haircuts every 6-8 weeks depending on how fast their hair grows and how quickly they get tangled. If no brushing is being done at home, appointments every 4-6 weeks are encouraged. Deshedding is recommended every 2-3 months. Baths can be done as often as you'd like, but we do recommend nails to be done every 6-8 weeks to keep the quicks down to prevent curling and discomfort from long nails.

How long will it take?

  • This is based on the size of the dog and behavior. Note: a dog that is stressed and doesn’t stand still for grooming will take longer.

What is the cancellation policy?

  • If you know you need to cancel an appointment, please do so as soon as possible. There is a cancellation fee of $50 if cancelled under 24 hours notice . We understand things happen so we will consider some cases, but our time is precious and last minute openings make it difficult to fill up.
